The Monster Zoo is an interactive AR filmmaking application for children aged 6 to 14, designed to educate children about the importance of wildlife conservation in a fun but meaningful experience.
Perfect for, but not limited to, a museum, school or library, The Monster Zoo uses AR technology to seek out invisible monsters and then document their existence in an augmented reality documentary. AR trackpads are placed throughout the event, which when identified by the device generate the 3D models and animations of the monsters.
The Monster Zoo AR experience was produced way back in 2013 (yeah, we were using AR back then – before APPLE!) and features ‘monsters’ which are actually modelled from actual endangered Australian animals with the goal of promoting conservation and raising awareness for endangered wildlife, which lack a voice in society. Help document the Leatherback Monster, Hairy-Nosed Monster, Stick Monster, and The Gulbaru Monster!
