A health literacy AR app designed to help patients better understand their medication. The application development and UI/UX design had heavy emphasis on the end users ability. Users use AR to scan their medication packaging, where they accessed videos and animations on use and side effects, and podcasts on other patients’ experiences.
This was developed as a proof-of-concept and is the output of a research collaboration in Australia and is in testing and evaluation phase, with a limited number of invited or selected users. QUT Human Research Ethics Committee has approved the evaluation of the app in real environments with real people and patients. The app has not been released publicly for everybody to download and use.
