Stool Slingers

Country to Coast QLD

A cheeky digital tool encouraging bowel screening through AR Gameplay

Project Overview:

Activate Studios designed Stool Slingers to help demystify bowel screening and drive awareness among Australians aged 45–50. Commissioned by Country to Coast QLD, the WebAR experience uses humour, simple gameplay, and accessible design to engage users with an important health message. Designed to launch from QR codes on posters, coasters and even toilet paper, the game is fast, fun, and effective.

Our Solution:

Stool Slingers is a mobile-first, browser-based augmented reality mini-game where players sling sample sticks at animated poo emojis bursting out of a dunny. Hosted by “Billy the Skid,” a cheeky little turd in a cowboy hat, the game mixes fun with function, giving users a memorable interaction and a clear call to action.

The project included gameplay design, character creation, sound design, and campaign-aligned UI/UX. At the end of the experience, users are directed to learn more about bowel screening and order their free kit.
