Project Overview:

Activate Studios developed “Footprints,” a digital installation for Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, showcasing native Australian animal interactions through projected footprints.

Our Solution:

“Footprints” features projections of animal tracks on the floor, each set telling its own narrative. An additional wall projection provides visual and textual information about the animals. Animators studied the gaits of each animal in consultation with Lone Pine’s experts, ensuring accurate portrayal. The installation’s aesthetic was inspired by the grey, cracked cement, with ambient sounds recorded near the sanctuary and footsteps recreated by foley artists.
